Guidelines for abstract submission
Deadline for abstract for Oral presentation: September 28st 2025
Deadline for abstract for Poster presentations: October 15th, 2025
Please review the preferred (although not required) abstract format for submission. Abstracts do not need to exactly follow the format below, especially for those with policy abstracts.

Introduction: This abstract provides the instructions on the format to be used when submitting your abstract to the 2025 MACRC conference. Avoid abbreviations in the Title. Introduce all necessary abbreviations upon first use in the text. If a word or phrase is not used three or more times in the text, it should not be abbreviated.
Methods: The text of the abstract should be 250 words or less (does not include title, authors, affiliations or Funding acknowledgements or conflict of interest). Margins should be at least 1” on all sides of the page. Type font should be Times New Roman, 12 point. The title should appear at the top, centered, all in CAPS and bold. Author names should appear below the title and centered. Each author’s name should appear as a first name, middle initial(s), if applicable and then last name. A superscript numeral should designate the author’s affiliation/organization and an asterisk designates the presenting author. Abstracts should have the following 5 sections headed in italics: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Acknowledgements & Conflict of Interest disclosures.
Results: The results section must include a description of the results that will be presented at the conference identifying actual data and details of statistical analysis. It is not acceptable to write vague statements such as “data will be presented to show…”. Your abstract should be a concise summary of your study and its results, whether it is intended for presentation in either oral or poster format at the conference. No Figures or tables are allowed in your abstract.
Conclusions: Abstract submissions must be one-page in length, saved as a Microsoft Word (.doc,.docx). You must register for the conference to present a poster or an oral presentation.
Research Support, Acknowledgements and Conflicts of Interest: List the federal or foundation grants (NIH, NSF, DOD, AHA etc) with the institute and grant number), including training grants, NRSAs and institutional research programs. Acknowledge any Cores or Laboratories that have contributed resources to the project and list their grant or local university support. If you have a travel award to attend this meeting identify the source here. Disclose any conflicts of interest for any one of the authors (e.g., Dr. X is an advisor for X company which produces the compounds described herein.). If there are no conflicts to disclose for the (other) authors add the statement: “The (other) authors have no conflicts of interest to disclose”. Include a release statement indicating that “The results and conclusions are the opinion of the authors and were not influenced by any of the sources of support”.
